Privacy Policy

The most important part: your videos
Milzune never receives, transmits, stores, or has any access to the video files you process. All compression and conversion happens locally in your web browser, on your own device, using WebAssembly technology. There is no upload step, no processing server, and no storage bucket. If you're wondering whether there's a video converter that doesn't upload your file — this is it, and this section is the formal commitment behind that claim.
Because processing is local, your video files are outside the scope of the rest of this policy: we cannot collect, share, sell, or lose what never reaches us. You can verify this behavior at any time using your browser's network inspector, or read the plain-language explanation on our How It Works page.
What we do collect
Analytics
We collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics — page views, approximate country, browser type, and which tool was used — to understand how Milzune is used and improve it. Analytics never include your video files, file names, file contents, or any data derived from them.
Payment data (Pro purchases)
If you purchase Milzune Pro, payment is processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your card details, billing address, and email address under its own privacy policy — we never see or store your card number. We receive from Stripe only what's needed to deliver your license: your email address, the purchase confirmation, and a transaction reference.
Contact messages
If you write to us through the contact form, we receive your name, email address, and message, and use them only to reply.
Cookies and local storage
Milzune stores a small amount of data in your browser's local storage:
- Free-tier usage counter — how many files you've processed today, so the daily limit works.
- Pro license key — if you've purchased Pro, so your upgrade persists between visits.
- Cookie consent choice — so we don't ask you again.
This data stays in your browser and is not transmitted to us. Analytics cookies, if any, are set only after you accept them via the cookie banner.
Third-party services
- Stripe — payment processing for Pro purchases (only when you buy).
- None for video processing. The video engine (ffmpeg.wasm) is served from milzune.com itself, not from a third-party CDN, so no outside party is involved in processing at any point — not even to hand your browser the software.
Data retention and your rights
We keep contact emails as long as needed to handle your request, and purchase records as long as required for tax and accounting law. You may request a copy or deletion of any personal data we hold (your email and purchase record) by contacting us. Video files can't be requested or deleted from our systems because they were never in them.
Children
Milzune is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. A change will never retroactively grant us access to files processed locally — that guarantee is architectural, not contractual.
